Most of us cannot afford the buttons on the shirts that celebrities are wearing. But we can dream, can’t we? To hear that a celebrity paid thousands of dollars for a pair of shoes is laughable, not something we would even think of doing. If we had a few extra thousand dollars, we would get out of debt or put it away for a rainy day, definitely not even consider buying a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes. Jimmy can keep his shoes, sell them to Oprah and Gwyneth and we will just make do.

There is a place for designer clothing and that place is absolutely on those who can afford it. The designers would not be the millionaires they are were it not for the demand of high end clothing by the wealthy. Just because you may not be able to afford the designer labels, does not mean you can’t look like you can afford the designer labels. If you search Jimmy Choo shoes, or Vera Wang clothing on the Internet you will get over a million hits. Obviously a lot of that is the talk about the clothes and designers themselves. But with a little research you can find actual designer items at much cheaper prices, sometimes more than half of what they are retailing for in high end stores in New York or California.

Diva is a state of mind, not the clothes on your back. You are fabulous and looking fabulous is not that hard for you. It does not matter whose name you are wearing, it matters that what you are wearing, you are wearing well. Of course there is always the yearly birthday or anniversary and, with the right hint, you may just garner that designer original you have been pining away for, from that amazing significant other who already knows you are a diva.
